Building Trade Apprenticeships

Please allow me to introduce you to the other four-year degree called apprenticeships. This is still in my opinion the best kept secret and I wish more people knew about this opportunity of a lifetime.

Growing up, we're often told that college is the only way to get a good job. But what if college isn't for you? Maybe you're not sure what you want to do, or maybe you're already drowning in student debt. Whatever your situation, there's another way: apprenticeships.

Unlike college, where you pay to learn, apprenticeships pay you to learn. And if you're lucky enough to get into an apprenticeship program, you'll also be joining a union. As a union member, you'll start out making a solid wage of $19-23 per hour, with benefits like medical coverage, a pension, and an annuity. Plus, you'll become part of an international brotherhood or sisterhood that will be with you for life.

Once you've learned a trade, no one can take that skill away from you. And when you graduate from your apprenticeship, you'll be considered a journey person. As a journey person, you'll have the freedom to travel almost anywhere in the United States and work wherever you like, because you'll be part of an international union.

The apprenticeship program typically lasts 4-5 years, during which time you'll be working on a job site and getting paid every single week. You'll only need to attend school 3-4 times a year for the technical certifications needed to keep up with your skills. And when you graduate, you could be making anywhere from $90,000-$100,000 or more, without even needing a college degree.

This is the difference between having a stable career and juggling two to three jobs just to survive. Remember, what you invest in something is what you get out of it. Don't wait any longer to take advantage of this opportunity.
